How to make a beet smoothie

Step 1: Start with simple ingredients

Beets, frozen cherries & bananas, lime juice, dates and chia seeds – plus your milk of choice are all you need for this Cherry Lime Beet Smoothie!

Can you use raw beets in a smoothie? To prepare beets for this smoothie, I like to cook them first to create a silkier smoothie texture. I usually roast beets using this method. You can also buy pre-cooked beets at the grocery store which is helpful for quick preparation.

Can you use frozen beets in a smoothie? Frozen beets can be used in smoothies too. You can usually find frozen raw beets in the grocery store freezer section or freeze them yourself in large batches – raw or cooked.

Step 2: Blend all ingredients except the chia seeds.

You’ll mix the chia seeds in after blending.
