Ingredients

  • 1 cup freshly steeped chai tea or cinnamon spiced tea
  • 1/3 cup quick oats
  • 1/2 cup fresh apple cider no additives
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground ginger
  • 2 small fresh apples quartered
  • 1 Tbs honey
  • 1 Tbs fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tsp ground flax seed
  • pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Brew 1 chai tea bag in hot water. Set aside to prepare other ingredients while it steeps.
  2. Stir quick oats and apple cider in a microwave safe dish. Heat 60 sec, until oats have softened and absorbed most of the liquid, you still want it to be a little loose (add a tablespoon more cider if you need to).
  3. Once hot tea is ready, place 1/3 cup of the tea in a blender with cooked oats and remaining ingredients. Blend until smooth and creamy. Add more hot tea to get to desired thickness.
  4. Sprinkle top with cinnamon and get on with your morning!

Notes

This smoothie can be made the night before and warmed up in the morning.
