Uncommon Gifts for Mother’s Day & Earth Day!

March 20, 2017 by Emily Brees Leave a Comment - This post may contain affiliate links.

Unique. Sustainable. Personalized. Thoughtful.
Need a place to find a curated collection of amazing gifts that check off all these marks? With Mother’s Day coming up I know I do!

Let’s face it, there’s a lot of pressure to find sweet & thoughtful gifts that our moms would actually use and most of us are lacking in free time to do this! We all need a place where someone has done all the work and then some – enter Uncommongoods.com.

So when they asked me to partner with them on the blog, I knew it would be a great fit for Earth Day, Gifts for Mother’s Day and the Source{d} section of Oat&Sesame.

I was compensated by UncommonGoods.com to write this blog post. All opinions are 100% mine. Post contains affiliate links.

Sustainability is important every single day, but when holidays come around, we all need a reminder to shop sustainably! UncommonGoods gives us a place to do just that!

UncommonGoods is a B Corp. OK, What’s a B Corp?

Put simply, B Corporations are a group of businesses worldwide that hold themselves and each other to a high level of accountability across the board – working both locally + globally to solve social and environmental problems.

This can range from addressing wage levels, environmental impact and giving back to the community.

It’s people using business as a force for goodTM

This TedTalk explains the benefits of changing the focus of capitalism from shareholders to society to better our world and how B Corporations work towards this goal.

With a business model that supports sustainability in all its forms, the team at UncommonGoods is also fantastic at finding and curating the most unique and endearing gifts. And I love that with every purchase made, UncommonGoods gives back through their Better to Give Program. I’ve highlighted some of my favorite products below.

Gifts for Mom’s

There are so many different kinds of moms! Moms that love jewelry, some that love to garden or cook and those that like spa gifts – there is something for everyone at UncommonGoods. Don’t tell my mother-in -law, but I’m giving her this awesome Himalayan Pink Spa Foot Care Set for Mother’s Day!

Since I’m quite garden-obsessed, you won’t be surprised to find out that my favorite products come from the gardening section of UncommonGoods.

This indoor composter that I received from my sister is like giving someone liquid gold. I tell everyone about it. It’s such a great way to reduce landfill waste and as a result emissions. Adding it to your garden will result in bigger yields and super happy (read: fat) earthworms. That’s right, my earthworms are clearly happy little creatures.

I bought myself this butterfly puddler last year. I haven’t really had a chance to see it in action yet, but I love butterflies and even if I just get one to visit, I’ll be happy. Plant some milkweed and you’ll be sure to have monarchs! All moms love butterflies!

Oh and then there’s the bug motel. A super trendy hangout for hipster bees and insects alike. I’d like to say I’ve peeked inside mine to see who’s home, but I also afraid they might fly out at my eyes, so I assume they’re all cozy and waiting to see what pollinators I’ve got growing in the the garden for them this year.

So, there you have it, three great things you can do for both Mother Earth and for your own gardening Mom. Check out all these great gifts for gardeners!

And if gardening isn’t her thing, there are so many unique handmade finds I guarantee you’re search will end with a meaningful and gorgeous gift.
